Ed Sheeran continues to behave like the nicest guy in the music industry. He’s currently touring New Zealand but stopped at the hospital to help Jess Knight celebrate her 20th birthday!

Jess had bought tickets back in October for the concert in Auckland and wasn’t feeling too well, but thought it was the flu. Like most of us, she put it down to being busy and getting run down.

“But we thought we’d go to the doctor and get a blood test just in case,” Knight said.

It only took a few hours before the doctor called her to come back in and gave her the news. She had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Since October, she’s had multiple chemotherapy treatments and a bone marrow transplant, and she was just too exhausted to go to the show.

Her friend, Anna Strong, started a campaign to see if Teddy might be able to come to her instead! And Ed delivered, spending an hour talking about movie, food and even his trip to South America that’s coming up.

“It was so unreal,” Jess told TVNZ. “He was just a genuinely nice guy.”

Jess said she ‘couldn’t stop smiling.’

“So humble and down to earth,” Ms Knight told Daily Mail Australia.

Even better than Ed Sheeran coming to visit though – Jess’ cancer has since gone into remission.
