For years, like a sucker, I have been slaving away over a BBQ or swinging by the cafeteria at Costco (or IKEA), whenever I get a craving for a hotdog. I learned today that I have been leaving like a caveman. There is an elegant and wonderful solution to help take the minutes of prep involved in making a hotdog out of the equation. Welcome To My Kitchen

It wasn’t until this morning that I learned such a device existed. We were having a great chat on KiSS Mornings about what foods you can cook in the microwave. We were discussing cooking Kraft dinner at the microwave at work, but I said there was no point in making KD since we couldn’t have hotdogs with it. Luckily, a brilliant caller phoned in to the show to enlighten me. If you have a hankering for hotdogs you can be satiated with a simple appliance: the Hotdog Toaster. This device was new to me; however, many people on Twitter chimed in to say not only had they used these, but they were popular at their workplaces.

After some online shopping I discovered there are appliances for EVERYTHING! Want home made cupcakes and cake pops? There is a waffle-iron type appliance for that! Same thing with mini-donuts! You can make them at home and have them turn out just like the ones you get at the Ex or at a Goldeyes Game with an elegant doughnut deep-frier! The world of specialized appliances has opened up my eyes to all the possibilities out there of the simple and tasty foods you can make at home with the right equipment. This could be a very bad discovery in terms of my overall health and well-being, but if I pair the donut maker with a quality veggie juicer I could have the best of both worlds for kitchen appliances!
