In their January 2021 Unpacked Event, Samsung introduced the world to their Galaxy Buds Pro: the company’s latest wireless earbuds. We are living in a time with a lot of choice when it comes to wireless earbuds. But some of the latest innovations in connectivity, audio quality, and artificial intelligence, make the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro a particularly appealing option.

For music fans

It is so easy to digitally enjoy your favourite songs, audiobooks, podcasts and more. The Galaxy Buds Pro have been designed so you can enjoy audio in all of it’s forms with less distraction and quality compromise. The speakers you find in your car or on a quality stereo have a woofer (for low sounds) and a tweeter (for high sounds) that work together to give you really good sounding music. In a wireless earbud, where keeping a small size is a major factor, this isn’t always possible. However, the Galaxy Buds Pro have been designed with this two-way audio approach, which should produce really high quality sound for your music, movies, and more.

For calls and meetings

The Galaxy Buds Pro should be very good for use in video calls and phone chats. By using really smart microphone placement and artificial intelligence to analyze sounds, these can figure out what you are trying to hear and what background noise (barking dog, vacuum cleaner, etc.) you are trying to ignore. And even though the buds are all the way on the side of your head, a tunnel-like audio effect with the bud’s microphone placement has been designed to pick up your voice clearly when you speak. Also if you’re outdoors, wind sounds can really dominate a call, but the hardware and software design of the buds, apparently, eliminate this issue.

For everyday life

Speaking of picking up your voice, the buds will recognize when you’re talking. This is important for scenarios when you’re wearing your earbuds, but also wanting to have a quick conversation. You won’t need to take out your earbuds, because they will recognize your voice, and start listening for the response from the person you’re talking to.

For ease of use

The Galaxy Buds Pro have a very slick and cool case. But if you forget to put a bud away, you can use the Find function in the SmartThings app to track down your missing bud and put it back in the case (which will also recharge it).

Great design and cool look

The Galaxy Buds Pro seem to have a very thoughtful design and are intended to travel with you through your daily life without hassle. It can tell what device you’re using and switch between devices as needed (eg, you’re watching Netflix on your tablet and your phone rings, the buds will switch to your phone).

The buds come in three colours (that Phantom Violet looks REAL nice) and at $264.99 are priced within the range of a premium wireless earbud.
