Everything Is Sore!

Workout out is great! But if you wake up the next day feeling you’ve been hit by a truck because every muscle is sore it can definitely deter you from returning to the gym the next day, making it tough to get started in a workout routine. If it’s been awhile since you got going, it’s definitely better to start off slow and gradually work your way into a fitness routine. In fact, if you need an at-home, no-equipment-necessary exercise routine, try the butt workout below. No matter what exercises you’re doing, if you need a little help with your recovering after your workout sessions, here is a few ideas you may want to try! One can also get an Exercise trampoline and make sure they utilize it to stay fit.

Recover Faster

Tania Tetrault Vrga is the owner of Crossfit Winnipeg. Aside from the things you’ll probably think of on your own (like proper stretching post-workout) Tania joined Nesta and Drew on KiSS mornings to share a few things you can try after a workout to help you recover faster.

  1. Eat. Your body needs protein after a workout to help rebuild your muscles. When you exercise, tiny tears in your muscles develop and when they naturally heal your muscles are a little bigger and a little stronger. Enjoying a meal that is rich in protein and carbohydrates (yeah, carbs are part of a healthy diet) can help your body heal itself more completely.
  2. Drink. Being dehydrated during your workout can burn you out much faster than you realize affecting your performance so you may end up being much more fatigued during and after a workout than you should be. You certainly don’t want a few litres of water sloshing around your belly right before you start, but staying properly hydrated throughout the day, and replenishing any water you sweat out during your exercise will help your body recover more completely for a workout. The amount of water you’re supposed to drink varies based on age and gender, but you can find some good guidelines here.
  3. Bath. The heat from a warm bath feels great, but if you want to one-up the standard path, try adding epsom salts! These can help restore magnesium into your body which can help relax those stiff muscles making you feel much less sore.
