Quaker Canada is recalling Quaker Harvest brand Quinoa Granola Bars because of a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

What should you do? Either throw them out or return them to the store where you bought them.

No one has reported getting sick in Canada because they ate the bars and the recall was triggered by the company.  If you think you’ve become sick from eating one of the recalled products though, call your doctor.

Food contaminated with listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are especially at risk. Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, an infection in the newborn, or even stillbirth.
