Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare Returning!

 

Since Lady Gaga revealed her “American Horror Story: Hotel” casting last February, series co-creator Ryan Murphy has started to announce a number of actors joining the fifth installment of the hit FX horror anthology series. Last Friday, April 24, we got the full cast list for the upcoming season, revealing the names and a few details about the actors’ characters.

 

Here’s the complete list of actors and the characters they’ll be playing:

 

Gaga as Elisa Starr. Elisa is a famous lounge singer, who is pitted against Lolita and is always competing with her for popularity.

 

Angela Bassett as Lolita Jones. Lolita is a jazz singer who regularly performs at the bar of the hotel.

 

Sarah Paulson as Janis Joplin. Janis is a rock-star who checks into the hotel, oblivious of the horrifying events that await her. Murphy tweeted earlier this month that Paulson’s character is “the baddest bad girl of them all.”

 

Kathy Bates as Claudia DeVeau. DeVeau Janis’ agent, who will do anything in her power to keep Janis’ name untainted. Murphy also previously tweeted that Bates’ character will be the one who’ll run the hotel.

 

Frances Conroy as Maude Madelyn. Maude is a Marilyn Monroe impersonator, who has likeness for younger men and murder.

 

Denis O’Hare as Leo Maxwell. Leo is a bartender  at the hotel. He is a very close friend of Lolita.

 

Matt Bomer as Terry Castro. Terry is a bellboy of the hotel, who is always on the look-out for trouble and keeps an eye out for everyone. While promoting “Magic Mike XXL” at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 21, Bomer told MTV News that his role and Gaga’s character are heavily intertwined.

 

Cheyenne Jackson as Thimas Seabras. Seabras is also a bellboy. But unlike Terry, Thimas loves to gossip and is seen engaging in strange and suspicious behavior.

 

Grace Gummer as Emma Lam. Emma is a maid at the hotel. Like Thimas, he’s also seen engaging in strange activities.

 

Steven Weber as Ray Ottoman. Ray is the hotel inspector. He is despised by the hotel staff.

 

Christine Estabrook as Abigail White. Abigail is a realtor of the hotel.

 

Michelle Pfeiffer as Martina McBride. Martina is the previous owner of the hotel.

 

Lily Rabe as Annabelle Evergreen. Annabelle is the current owner of the hotel, who is gradually losing her sanity, due to the supernatural events that occur there.

 

Alexander Skarsgård as Joshua Evergreen. Joshua is the supportive and loving husband of Annabelle.

 

Donald Sutherland as Father Abner Gates. Father Gates is a priest that tries to cleanse the hotel of its impurities and bad spirits. His attempts, however, end very badly.

 

Wes Bentley as Father Dominic Deon. Father Deon is a happy-go-lucky leader of a group who is as curious as they are religious.

 

Finn Wittrock as Chap Newton.  A happily engaged man, who out of some bad luck, decides to spend a night at the hotel.

 

Evan Peters as The Prowler. The Prowler is a mysterious young man that hangs around the hotel and its dark alley ways. Murphy recently tweeted that Peter’s character is one of the hotel guests staying in Room 64.

 

Chloë Sevigny as Lois Deon. Lois is a woman with a dark past, who is now living seemingly happy as a homemaker.

 

Michael Chiklis as Dr. Nelson Brackett. Dr. Drackett is an unemployed intelligent scientist who is desperate to secure a job soon.

 

“American Horror Story: Hotel” will premiere on FX in October.
