Winnipeg Google PacMan

Ranging from the cool to the funny, lots of businesses got in on April Fools 2015.

Google rolled out a new Google Maps feature that allows you to play Pac-Man on almost any street in the world, including right here in Winnipeg. Just go to Google Maps and look for the Pac-Man symbol in the bottom left corner of your screen.

They also gave us com.google, where you’re given a chance to use the Google search system backwards, and Chrome selfies where you can take a selfie instead of replying to texts or messages on social media.

“Most Chrome users lose up to 6 hours of selfie-taking time every day! And we think it’s a tragedy that your reactions, as well as luscious lashes and beautiful brows, are going uncaptured.”

Amazon Dash

This one we’re still not sure if it’s a joke of not because it’s SUCH A GOOD IDEA!!  The Dash Button is a single-use Wi-Fi enabled ordering device that you have for your often use items like razor blades, toilet paper or coffee. You stick it to a wall or table by where you keep the item and, when your supply is getting low, you press the button and it orders directly for you.

They kid proofed it too so that only one of the item is ordered, even if the button is pressed 30 times, and you are alerted to your smartphone app every time the button is pushed, giving you the option of canceling the order within 30 minutes of a button press.

Considering they’re already testing out drone delivery in Canada this could be AMAZING! If it really is a joke, I’m afraid it backfired Amazon because I want it.
